On June 12, 2008, Steve and Debbie Stamson hosted a fundraising reception for the re-election of Chris Turner as General Sessions Court Clerk. Hon. Turner has been serving faithfully for over a decade. He inherited the office from John Ford, who was running the office at a deficit to the county. Chris came in, and virtually overnight the office was returning a surplus to the county each year.

The event was held in the Stamson’s beautiful backyard. Guests from each of the county’s clubs enjoyed bar-b-que, beans, dessert and each others’ company beside the pool, as they rallied for Honorable Chris Turner. Shelby County Republican Chairman Bill Giannini spoke and encouraged the crowd to support such a great candidate.
