A segment of Third St. downtown between Madison and Court has been honorarily named for long-time Republican activist George Dobbins.

Dobbins, who passed away in 2006, was an entrepreneur, an advocate for equal financial opportunity for all in this city, a great man of community, and a person who fulfilled his aspirations and inspired countless others to reach and achieve theirs.

A ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon to unveil the signs and commerate and honor Dobbins’s service to our community.
