White appointed to lead “Above Culture”

SCRP Second Vice Chair Mark White has been appointed to lead “Above Culture”, an organization founded by Rev. William Owens, Chairman of the Coalition of African-American Pastors.  Click “more” to read about this appointment.

Mark White has joined our organization, Above Culture, sister organization to Coalition of African American Pastors, bringing more than thirty years experience in education, business and civic engagement. He serves on many civic and business boards. Formerly a principal, teacher & athletic director at Harding Academy and most recently was a candidate for the congressional seat that was vacated by Harold Ford, Jr. He is founder and co-owner of Grand Events & Party Rentals with current revenues of 9 million dollars.

Mark shares our passion for bringing blacks and whites together on the Word of God and for making a difference in the area of education and saving our culture. He currently provides scholarships to 68 students in Panama City, Panama. He is a great leader and humanitarian and believes as we do that all Christians should come together on common ground.

Above Culture is a sister organization to the Coalition of African American Pastors that involves all races and denominations. “Above Culture is an outgrowth of CAAP because we had so many non-pastors and white brothers who wanted to work with us, because of our name they felt that they did not fit under the Coalition’s umbrella,” said Owens.

Mark will be communicating our vision for Above Culture with you very soon. Please join us in welcoming him.
