About Our Chairman
Justin Joy
Growing up in Johnson City in East Tennessee, Justin came to Shelby County to attend law school, and eventually, business school, at the University of Memphis. Volunteering for his first Republican campaign while still in high school, Justin has been involved in Republican politics for many years, serving in a number of ways. Among other roles, he has previously served the Shelby County Republican Party as Primary Board Chairman, Steering Committee District Representative and Bylaws Committee Chairman. For many years, on and around election day, Justin has helped to coordinate ballot security efforts and other election day operations on behalf of the Shelby County Republican Party. Serving in this role, Justin has helped to train and coordinate hundreds of poll watchers and other election day volunteers to help ensure fair and honest elections. For a number of years, he also served as treasurer for the Shelby County Young Republicans. In addition to his involvement with the Shelby County Republican Party, Justin has served in various volunteer roles for numerous Republican candidates for local, state and federal offices.
Justin is an attorney with the Memphis law firm of Thomason, Hendrix, Harvey, Johnson & Mitchell, PLLC. His law practice focuses on business and commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense and business law. Justin and his wife Amanda have one child, Charlie, who was born in July 2011.
